Tawaw Architecture Collaborative

Tawaw is an architectural firm based in Phoenix, AB and Calgary, AB. Since 2010, we have been designing, planning, and building spaces for a host of clients including municipalities, developers, K-12 school boards, First Nations, universities as well as working alongside other international architecture firms. We are growing quickly. Our home office is based in Tempe AZ and planning to open a new office in Calgary, AB (www.tawarc.com). We work on cultural centers, higher education, daycares, K-12 projects, urban and reserve housing.

Project Architect (Calgary, AB)

– 8-10 years’ experience
– Revit proficiency  
– Responsible for Project Management, design and coordination
– Self-motivated with a high level of accountability

–  Excellent written and spoken communication skills
– Ability to mentor junior team members
– Great communication and client relations skills

– Attention to detail and solid understanding of construction means and methods
– Accredited Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture degree
– Registered architect preferred

Project Architect (Tempe, AZ)

While our projects are mainly in Canada, we have a studio in Tempe, Arizona that works on both USA-based and Canada-based projects. Our work is mainly design and cultural research in the Tempe office, but there are also opportunities to work on Canadian based projects including construction documents for various projects across Canada.

Cultural Researcher (Indigenous focus)

We are an indigenous-owned Architecture firm. Our work includes both design and cultural research. We do place-based research as part of every project, and the candidate would also be responsible for writing to communicate the resarch.

QUALIFICATIONS

– Graduate level degree in American Indian Studies, or Bachelor’s degree along with 5 years’ work experience
– Strong interest in learning about Indigenous Groups within North America

– Interest in cultural design

– Self-directed work ethic
– Great communication skills
– Preference to researchers with writing skills
