Tawaw Architecture Collective is based in Phoenix (www.tawarc.com). We work on projects in Canada and USA. We collaborate with international firms. We work on cultural centers, higher education, K-12 projects, sustainable design and some innovative housing (tiny homes). Feel free to work from home until Covid clears (June/July); then join our new Tempe office. We offer flex days.

Project Architect:

– 8-10 years’ experience
– Revit
– Responsible for consultant coordination and development of CD’s
– Skilled in building detailing
– Self-directed work ethic
– Managing junior team members
– Great communication and client relations skills
– Accredited Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture degree
– Registered architect preferred

Project Administrative Assistant

We are a collaborative-focused, interdisciplinary professional practice encompassing Architecture, Planning, Interior Design and Engagement. We are looking for a highly motivated individual willing to take on responsibility, multi-task and grow with our integrative team while sharing a passion for quality design and environmental excellence. The Project Administrative Assistant will assist the Managing Director with day-to-day responsibilities related to keeping the office running smoothly. A minimum of 2 years’ experience is preferred. Ideal candidates will be self-starter, take initiative, have a strong work ethic, and must possess a demonstrated ability to organize and deliver results with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, as well as InDesign. The position requires on-site presence and working in the physical office day-to-day. Must live in Phoenix, Arizona. We are located in Tempe, AZ.


– Handle day to day activities in the office such as scanning, filing, organizing hard copy and electronic data

– Support activities of Managing Director or Project Managers using shared drives such as google docs and overseeing document compliance


– Research opportunities that are in alignment with the firm’s vision, values, and capabilities

– Assist with website / email communication and mailing list upkeep

– Liaise with Managing Director to develop, create and design content, profiles, and marketing materials

– Create, populate, and maintain a CRM platform for office client and opportunity tracking

– Produce proposal packets via InDesign or Google Slides by coordinating internal and external resources through communications and information exchanges with the team

– Organize and coordinate with sister Companies with documents and file shares working remotely in the office


– Must be dependable, reliable, and ethical

– Must be able to exercise discretion, discernment, and loyalty to the mission

– Must understand and protect confidentiality, as well as maintaining privacy of internal and external information

– Must show creativity, initiative, and good judgment

– Highly motivated, flexible, decisive, and persuasive by using excellent speaking and/or writing skills

– Good communication and people skills – ability to inspire and motivate while sharing thoughts/ideas clearly and simply

– Must be assertive, but also able to participate in a team environment and be open to new ideas

– Knowledge and ability to effectively use Microsoft Office or the Google based equivalents

– Ability to use graphics software InDesign or others, such as Adobe Creative Suites (Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, Acrobat)

– Strong understanding of the culture and heritage of indigenous peoples and history/issues

Proposal Writer / Web Content Writer
(American Indian Studies focus)

Tawaw Architecture Collective is based in Phoenix (www.tawarc.com). We specialize in Indigenous architecture in Canada and USA. We are looking for a writer who understands current issues in American Indian Studies. Preference will be given to writers with an understanding of arts or architecture. We need someone to oversee all written work in our firm, from request for proposals to cover letters to firm profiles to web content (blog, website edits etc). We are working from home until Covid clears (June/July); then moving into a Tempe office. We offer flex days.


– Degree in journalism, business writing or American Indian Studies
– Understanding / knowledge of American Indian Studies
– Self-directed work ethic
– Great communication and client relations skills
– Preference to writers with creative connection

Bookkeeper / Controller / Financial Officer

We are a small architecture firm with projects in USA and Canada. The successful candidate will work from our Tempe office to assist in maintaining our accounting system (QBO, hubdoc, VEEM) and ensuring oversight of overall financial operations of the company. We have a small staff of 9, but are growing quickly. Experience in an architecture firm isn’t necessary. We are all working from home until covid clears.


  • – Accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
  • – Perform monitoring and analysis of all project costs and invoices including re-billable expenses
  • – Review contracts for fees, billing terms, and track milestones
  • – Monitor project progress and assist Project Managers and Directors with the financial analysis of projects
  • – Work very closely with Principal and Senior staff to monitor project related financial data for an assigned portfolio of projects
  • – Prepare project summaries and analyses for profitability as required
  • – Issue and complete financial statements
  • – Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
  • – Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
  • – Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
  • – Comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings


  • – A degree in Accounting or Finance
  • – Minimum of three years of work experience
  • – Possess superior organization skills
  • – Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
  • – Work well independently and in a team environment
  • – Experience with standard contract terms and how they are applied to the billing process
  • – Strong prioritization skills and ability to manage competing requests
  • – Excellent interpersonal skills
