Mehdi Taghavi was born in Iran to a family of architects, designers and artists and grew up in Dubai, where he began his career in architectural engineering and design. Since then, he has worked on large scale commercial projects and luxury residential all over the world, from the Middle East to Central America. He is passionate about practical design that incorporates history, culture and sense of place to create human-centered spaces. He was drawn to working with TAWAW because of the collaborative approach to the design process and the opportunity to share his experiences mentoring young architects while learning deeply about Indigenous history and culture. Mehdi enjoys boxing, mountain biking, camping, and hiking with his wife, daughter and little dog Fifi.
